Cherry is best described as a contemporary impressionist who works with oil on canvas capturing figure, landscape and still life.

Evolving over time from her early traditional training, her passion is for colour and movement. Cherry’s deceptively free style presents as a celebration of her subject matter. She enjoys plein-air painting in the rambling beauty of her riverside garden near Melbourne, Victoria and on her regular trips to the Gippsland Lakes. The play of light captured in Cherry’s paintings and her unique use of reactive colour create an exciting sense of movement; whilst her studio compositions portray a keen sense of design and appreciation of every-day objects.

Cherry Manders flamboyant paintings are best described as impressionist, and at times expressionist. Cherry’s portraits, still life studies and landscapes have won numerous awards in recent years (including the ‘Norma Bull portrait prize’ and three-time winner of the ‘Fredrick McCubbin Award’).

Her works can be found in private collections across Australia, and overseas.
