Pamela Irving

Pamela’s works have been described as irreverent and whimsical. She unashamedly makes joyful and quirky works with a coterie of characters to express her ideas.


Pamela Irving has a Bachelor of Education and Master of Arts from the University of Melbourne.  She has exhibited widely throughout Australia as well as in Hong Kong, Russia, Japan, Italy, France, China, and the USA. Selected collections include, Museums Victoria, Bars Collection Russia, Art Bank, The City Museum of Ravenna, Italy, Regional Gallery Collections, Municipal Collections, and University Collections.

Her days are spent working between painting and making sculptural works. She has been the recipient of several Arts Victoria and Australia Council Grants and Winner of the Shepparton Australia Day Award for Ceramics, she is the current recipient of the ORO Mosaic Award. In December 2019 Pamela was invited to exhibit her paintings in the Hunan Art Gallery, China with China’s most significant Female Painters.

Pamela’s pieces adorn many public spaces in Melbourne and afar. They include the mosaic façade of the Luna Palace Building, Luna Park Melbourne and Larry La Trobe, the bronze dog standing in front of Melbourne’s Town Hall, large scale ceramic mural at the Shanghai American School, Shanghai and many other sculptures and murals around Melbourne.

Pamela’s studio is based in Bentleigh, Melbourne.
